Dart Dawn raid

This was the dawn raid (well, dark raid) run with Jim last week. The Pyranha Fusion S was good, a bit of a suprise with its lack of secondary stability but great acceleration and pretty nimbal for a boat thats 3mtrs long. Yak Camo Legend cag and Yak Descent pfd still going strong. Get your selves one here: Descent pfd Legend cag

I'm going to paddle the larger size fusion in next few weeks so stay tuned for a full reveiw on both sizes then.

Snow boating

A bit late to hit the front page as its all gone now. This is Haytor thurs 7th jan, just 12 hours after landing back in the UK to -5 degs from a nice hot 27deg Maroco a quick sleep then load up some boats and hit the snow! Haytor is bit of a sledging classic. Not always that snowy but a good long hill and loads of people having a laugh using every thing from car bonnets to snowboards to rubber rings, real sledges, skis nailed to pallets and pub drinks trays!

The "Mighty Hick truck", still hicking, 4 wheel drive proved the hick truck rules as we went off piste for some snow boat action.

Check the vid for some sliding. More snow would have been better for actually carving around. So would have smaller boots to fit inside the kayak. Fun all the same. Pyranha kayaks make good sledges.

Double Dart

Aahh, the first boating blog of 2010 and its a Double Dart, two runs, twice the fun.
For the first dip in the icey uk waters for this year was last week with a very early morning run down the Loop with Jim before work. Thing is I didn,t even have to go to work that day. Commitment that is. Any way it was super dark and I took the Pyranha Fusion touring/river running hybrid boat. It was ok but I think for our yearly Upper dart over night trip I will be taking the larger version. (more steak and wine space).

The second run of the day in the afternoon was with Tom Klamfer and the Exeter school upper fith boys and girls. Its good to get out with this lot as they have a lot of energy and it makes me want to paddle better and play harder (so as not to be shown up...). Still it was a nice on the slab level with Top wave just about going and Triple 3 was banging. Reminding me why play boating is fun, lots of fast cartwheels and trying to coach the lads how to do blunts. They couldnt quite grasp the concept of using the shoulder radial as a lunch ramp but that may have been my explaning.

Jamie doing his best tortoise impression. Washing off the wave is no fun when the eddy is small.

A little surf for one of the lads.

3bsports in 2010

First blog of 2010. Its biking. Boarding pics yet to arrive at the inbox and boating is yet to happen. First ride was at ukbike park near Blanford Forum, Dorset. Good fun and not too wet like every where else.

Not the best pic to start with maybe, but I like it. Sam has a lurk.

Staying high and not taking too many trips to the bottom of the hill is the key to having the most fun on Okeford Hill.

Fun berms, slippy but grippy?

Finally a rebuilt bike after the replacement swing arm. Rides sweet, more riding and a few tweeks to be perfect.
In the rest of 3b news: Mafia trails, work has already begun on new berms, dual track lines and features. Heavy chainsaw work to re-open some trails soon to be done and the strong possability of work on the foam pit barn to be started before summer along with machinery lead ground clearance.

New year Anka point action pics coming soon along with other Maroco blogs.
Snow boating and other blogs coming as well. Not a bad start to the year.
